new-ish music

i have a rekindled love for the eels. i never really followed them, but i always like what i heard. they are a really good band. "bus stop boxer" is one of my favorite songs ever. i have several of their tunes, but no full albums and i think it's about time i stocked my collection. i heard them last night on united states of tara (btw, totally love this show already), so this is what prompted it.

been on a massive unwritten law kick lately. live and lawless hasn't left my car in who knows how long. occasionally i'll switch it out, but they always find their way back into my player.

finally checked out calvin harris and i will be looking for him too. so much fun! hypnotic brass ensemble as well.

oh and the new eminem song is really good. i like it a lot.

i so don't feel like working right now. there was a break in at alcott. luis showed up this morning to open up the site and as he was walking into one unit, some random black dude came out of nowhere and started running away. SCARY!

i'm hungry.

embarrassing conversation from earlier this morning.

greg: one of my guys is taking tomorrow off because he didn't want to miss one second of the inaugaration.
me: wait... it's in the daytime?
greg: [in disbelief] emily...! really? washington dc is 3 hours ahead of us.
me: yeah ok, but i totally thought this was an evening event. i didn't know it was starting at noon eastern.
