it's slow today
Jan. 21st, 2008 03:21 pmso at lunch, we were talking about child protective services and bad parents and etc. the russian used to work for a pre-school. one set of parents left their kid at school until 9pm, and then had the balls to ask the teacher if she could take him home. another set were crack addicts and beat their kid. thank god the worst my mom ever did was leave me at the mall.
but then i totally had a flashback. this was when we moved back from FL to CA and drove cross country. we were in new orleans, just walking around on the streets. my mom and dad decided to check out an adult bar, just to see what was going on inside. they asked some dude if he could watch me for a second while they popped in. i remember being bored out of my mind while waiting for them. looking back...
1. GROSS!!!
2. thanks for leaving me in the care of strangers, guys.
but at least back then, society felt safer. back in the days of latch-key kids and such. nowadays you can't trust anyone.
