the show was awesome. and also really fucking chilly, jesus! i love brmc so much. and kings of leon were really good. it was a good time. the best part of the night was when we were leaving though. we saw a family of deer in the park!

it was a good night. :)

i was going to write more about the show but simon called. dumbass rear-ended someone and took his car into a shop in koreatown so i went to pick him up. he got the dude to fix my a/c for $20! i finally have a/c again! then i made him buy me lunch.

anyway, so the show last night. so cool.

we parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up to the greek. way better than paying to park in the stacked lot. fuck that. we got there in the middle of manchester orchestra's set. they were alright. our seats were in the benches at the back of the venue, but it was cool cause you could see the stage over everyone's heads. during the set break, the security guard came to talk to us (there were like 10 of us total back there) and said "no smoking cigarettes during the show. again, no cigarettes." which i thought was funny as hell. finally brmc came on!

they opened with took out a loan then went into berlin. we thought they were going to play the whole album in sequence, which they kind of did. they swtiched it up a little but the baby 81 songs were pretty much in order. they also did ain't no easy way, weapon of choice, spread your love, 666 conducer, promise, and american x. those are the ones i can remember. i loved promise and american x the most. promise because robert sang and played piano. my boyfriend plays the piano! i love him even more. american x because it's one of my favorites on the record.

the set was too short, but they were the opener. i was really hoping to hear red eyes and tears, but no. and they didn't do anything off take them on, on your own. the sound was kind of low too. they're better suited for smaller venues, but i think the sound guy could have cranked it up a little.

kings of leon were really good. i don't know any of their songs other than what shola used to play in the office or car, and that one single they had a few years ago (but i hate that song). i really dug them. the only thing that sucked were the spotlights, so i rocked out while looking at the ground. it was hurting my eyes. oh and it was freezing ass cold. we boned out early since we turned into popsicles and hadn't eaten yet. plus it was cool to beat the mad rush out of the place. on our walk back to the car, we saw a family of deer! mom, dad and baby right in the park between the venue and the houses. it was so fucking cool.

we drove back to the valley and had an awesome late night breakfast at cable's tables. it's all vintage 70s with the original furniture and shit. i loved it! and it's right across the street from the china star mandarin schzewan fish and chips. chinese fish and chips! we have to go there one day. yay for the sfv.

all in all, a very good night. i can't express how happy and thankful that shola took me with her. i've been dying to see brmc again (this was my 2nd time) and i'd keep missing their shows due to lack of fundage. she so rules.

now i'm gonna go work on a budget. yes i am that cool, i'm doing office work on a sat night. i know you're jealous.
