Jul. 6th, 2002 01:59 ami'd just like to state how much i dislike social services and medi-cal.
i was there for 2 hours today. 1.5 of it spent sitting in a chair waiting for them to call my name. they said if my name wasn't called within one hour, to go back up to the windows and they'd try to get someone to help me. well the hour went by, i go ask for help and sure enough, they were good on their word. so i follow this lady into an interview room.
SS worker: are you pregnant?
me: no
SS: do you have children?
me: no
SS: are you disabled?
me: no.
SS: well you're not eligible.
fuckin a. the damn information packet they sent home with me the other day could have said something. apparantly medi-cal is only for those under 21 or over 65, women with kids, or disabled persons. my left eye being fucked didn't count as a disability.
whatever.
alli and i went shopping. that made the day much better.
less than a week until i get my new eyeball.
